On Wednesday 26 June 2024, the French Food Banks Federation (Fédération Française des Banques Alimentaires - FFBA) and GBH renewed their partnership agreement signed in 2022 to help to respond to the growing demand for aid and replenish food stocks in Guadeloupe, Maritinique and Réunion Island.

Through this partnership, GBH and its Carrefour subsidiaries have distributed nearly 4.3 million meals to recipient non-profits in these three territories since 2019.

This is the first time that the food banks network has received such support in these overseas territories at the same time.

This scheme sets out to recruit and train 12 participants with no prior motor-vehicle qualifications, so that they can obtain a vocational diploma qualifying them as a motor-vehicle electromechanical technician (a "BAC Pro" qualification, equivalent to a Level 4 diploma in the European Qualifications Framework). After 17 months of continuous learning within the Adapted Military Service Regiment (RSMA), followed by a work-study course at a public education college (GRETA-CFA) and GBH’s motor-vehicle subsidiaries, participants who successfully complete the programme will get a permanent job at one of these subsidiaries in Guadeloupe.
